Sitting pretty

Mommy said I should smile for the camera while I show off my sitting skills.

Sweet Success!

We now know that I have my mommy's sweet tooth. I have been trying rice cereal and oatmeal for almost a week now and have not found it to be very tasty. Today I tried sweet potatoes, I didn't eat a lot but I think they are delicious!

This is what I have been waiting for...

I have been watching every bite that my mommy and daddy take of their food for the last few weeks and have been waiting for a bite. This past weekend I tried solid food for the first time and was not too impressed. My rice cereal and oatmeal look nothing like the food I have seen mommy and daddy eat. I don't know why Koda and I have to eat food that is one color when everyone else eats food that looks so delicious.

Six months old!

I am now six months old! I am feeling better and gaining weight every day. My daddy bought mommy a piece of delicious chocolate cake to celebrate that I am half a year old! I really wanted to take a bite, but mommy said not yet. I think she doesn't want to introduce me to chocolate because then she will have to share.

Now that I am six months old I love to lie on my back and eat my toes. I am trying to sit up on my own and my first tooth is coming in! I am still trying very hard to protect my socks from Koda, but he is still faster than I am.

Where have we been?

You may be wondering why we haven't added any new pictures lately. The end of 2007 and first days of 2008 have been a little challenging for us. It all started when Yia Yia got strep throat before Christmas Eve. We had to stay in a hotel and stopped at Yia Yia's just for a few minutes to sit by the tree. Luckily, Aunt Stephanie had the Tarachas family celebration at her house. On Christmas Day we celebrated at Nana and Papa's. We then headed to Harbor Springs for a week vacation. Unfortunately, when we got there a pipe had burst and Nana and Papa's room and the crawl space were filled with water! A lot of Nana's festive decorations were destroyed but luckily the cute headband you see below was saved!

Just when we thought things were getting better I got a very bad stomach virus and I was barely eating. I lost a lot of weight and ended up spending a day in the ER and then three nights and four days in the hospital. I had an IV and I didn't like it. I also hated when they kept taking my blood! I am home now and feeling much better. The good news is that mommy, daddy and I all got a lucky coin out of Yia Yia's New Year's breads. The coins are for good luck and we are hoping ours is changing soon. Here are a variety of pictures from our holiday adventures. We won't be leaving the house for a while, but we will keep updating pictures from our adventures at home. Happy New Year!
